Free Parking

One of the best ways to receive FREE parking is to go to  Participating Businesses and get your Parking Validated, good for up to two hours free during the day and more in the evening and on weekends.

The City of San Jose offers FREE parking downtown at various times:

• 6 am-6 pm Saturday and Sunday at:
  • Market/San Pedro Square Garage, 45 N. Market St., between Santa Clara and St. John streets 
  • South First Area (SoFA) Lot at South First Street under Interstate 280

• 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at:
  • Fourth and St. John Garage, the City Hall employee garage at 50 N. Fourth St.

• 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday at:
  • Paviiion Garage, 150 S. Second St., just south of San Fernando Street
  • Third Street Garage, 95 N. Third St., just north of Santa Clara Street
  • Fourth Street Garage, 44 S. Fourth St., at San Fernando Street across from the Dr. Martin Luther King., Jr. Library
  • Second & San Carlos Street Garage, 280 S. Second St., also accessible from South Third Street

• After 6 p.m. weeknights at:
  • South First Area (SoFA) Lot under Interstate 280 at South First Street
  • Fourth and St. John Garage, the City Hall employee garage at 50 N. Fourth St. Note: this garage closes at 10 p.m.

The City of San Jose also offers FREE parking incentives to consumers purchasing low-emissions vehicles.
