Public Transportation
You can also get to downtown San Jose using public transit, including Valley Transportation Authority light rail, buses, shuttles and trolleys.
VTA light rail runs every 10 minutes weekdays, and every 15 minutes on weekends and holidays, making several stops in downtown. The VTA light rail route is on the parking map.
VTA's web site has schedule information for light rail or the many bus routes that serve downtown.
Caltrain
Caltrain connects downtown San Jose to other Bay Area cities, from Gilroy to San Francisco.
DASH Shuttle
The free Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) connects the San Jose Diridon Caltrain Station with VTA Light Rail and the transit mall, downtown office buildings, McEnery Convention Center, San Jose State University and outlying parking lots. Shuttles run every 10 minutes from 6:15 a.m. to 6:55 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extra morning commute shuttles provide service every 5 minutes.
